・UPP814 and UPP809, known respectively as “Joe Jordan” and “Jim Adams,” are a pair of unique tenders that serve as water cars supplying steam locomotives such as the Union Pacific Big Boy #4014 and FEF-3 #844.
・After serving as fuel tenders for steam and gas turbine-electric locomotives, they were modified to support UP’s preserved steam locomotives and now serve in their current form.
・They are always coupled during excursion operations, faithfully quenching the thirst of the powerful steam giants.
【Product Overview】
・This model reproduces the large passenger steam locomotive FEF-3 of the Union Pacific Railroad, one of the largest railroad companies in America.
・The preserved locomotive #844 is still in operation today, based out of the Cheyenne Depot in Wyoming, hauling event trains.
・Water tenders—essential for long-distance steam locomotive operations—are produced together with the FEF-3, as they carry the water needed for steam generation.
・KATO proudly offers a long-requested model of the operational FEF-3 #844, along with its excursion train and water tenders.
