About Importer's Obligation
Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
Thank you for your understanding.
For US Buyers
- Starting August 29, 2025, the “De Minimis Rule” (duty-free exemption for items valued under $800) in the United States will be abolished.
- The music CDs and vinyl records I list are classified by U.S. Customs as “informational materials,” which carry a duty rate of 0% (duty-free). Therefore, in general, no customs duties should apply. To help ensure this classification, I will clearly describe the items on the invoice as “Music CD (Informational Material)” or similar.
- However, after the abolition of the De Minimis Rule, all imported items will be subject to customs inspection. As a result, there is a possibility that customs duties may be applied depending on the judgment of U.S. Customs. In accordance with eBay policy, any customs duties incurred will be the responsibility of the buyer, so I kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
- Furthermore, due to the increased number of items requiring customs clearance, processing may take longer and delivery may be delayed compared to before.
- In addition, according to Japan Post, “since the specific procedures for declaration to U.S. Customs and payment of duties remain unclear at this time, there is a risk that items may not only be delayed but also returned.”
- I appreciate your kind understanding regarding these matters as well.
