Early 20th-Century Conservatory Stradivarius Copy 4/4 Violin - Fully Set Up, Ready to Play

Up for sale is a beautifully preserved vintage Stradivarius model violin , likely made in Germany or France between 1890 and 1920 . It bears the traditional label "Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1721" and is stamped "Conservatory" on the back — a mark used by quality trade workshops producing instruments for U.S. conservatories and teachers.

This violin features:

  • A two-piece spruce top and two-piece flamed maple back

  • Classic orange-red spirit varnish , aged gracefully

  • Newly installed bridge, strings, and fine tuners — ready to tune and play

  • Carved scroll, ebony pegs, and smooth fingerboard

The instrument's original finish shows signs of wear, as seen in the pictures. There are minor nicks in the wood along the edge.

  • Paper packing tape is used to seal boxes . Clear packing tape (plastic) may be used in a limited way to join pieces of bubble wrap or for affixing a label.
  • Kraft paper for padding and space/void filling : is made from 100% recycled paper and is fully recyclable.
  • Biodegradable peanuts for padding : are made from organic starch and decomposes in water leaving no toxic waste. Simply dissolve in water or place loosely in a garbage bag since they will decompose in a landfill.
  • Recycled green bubble wrap , that is made from up to 40% recycled content with up to 20% from post-consumer sources.
  • We will re-use other packing material from time to time.
