● KATO proudly introduces the JR West 227 Series 0 Series “Red Wing”, a next-generation commuter and suburban EMU operating in the Hiroshima region
● Introduced in 2014 (Heisei 26), the 227 Series replaced older JNR-style trains such as the 115 and 105 Series by March 2019 (Heisei 31)
● Capable of flexible operation with up to 8 cars per train, combining 3-car and 2-car sets
● The train features a striking red livery inspired by local Hiroshima icons such as the Itsukushima Shrine Torii and momiji (maple)—earning the nickname “Red Wing”
● Available in multiple set configurations, including a Special Edition 6-Car Set with bonus destination stickers
● Combine the Special Edition 6-Car Set with the 2-Car Set for a complete 8-car formation—each with unique car numbers

● Head/tail lights and destination signs light up on all lead cars (with light-off switches).

– 2-Car Set: KumoHa 227 with single-truck drive
– All power cars feature flywheel-equipped motors and traction tires
