This exceptional antique George V sterling silver strawberry bowl and serving dish has a plain circular rounded form in the classic 18th century style.
The body of each piece is plain and unembellished, in an incurved panelled shaped style.
The upper portion of each piece features a shaped border ornamented with impressive bright cut engraved interlacing strap work incorporating simplified trellis decoration and segmented with alternating scrolling leaf motifs.
The shaped rims are encompassed with applied moulded decoration; the incurved portion of each rim reflects the position of the convex dividers to the body.
The impressive strawberry bowl is supported by a circular domed, stepped foot.
Each piece bears the retailer"s mark "Mappin & Webb" to the underside.

Each piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the bowl and dish are very clear.
