Martin worked in Markneukirchen, specializing in replicas of Lupot, Amati, and Stradivarius models. This particular violin is based on the Amati model, giving it a very sweet and full sound.
It is a high-quality instrument, crafted from carefully selected tonewoods and featuring a highly flamed maple back, amber-brown varnish, and precise workmanship.
This attractive E. Martin violins was imported by the Samuel Kolstein & Sons Company of Baldwin, New York at the turn of the 20th century. The instrument is in good condition, with some natural playing wear and a few small, superficial, well-repaired cracks on the top. It has been carefully adjusted and professionally set up to ensure optimal playability and tonal quality.
