Felpro Pan Gasket
Specifically For the 2-Speed Ford-O-Matic With Aluminum Case
This Transmission Was Used From 1959-1964 in the US and XK - XP in Australia
The Ford-O-Matic two speed transmission was intoduced in 1959. A simplified version of the Cruise-O-Matic, it combined a torque connector and a compound planetary gear set. A front unit (multiple-disc) clutch provided high gear, a front band on the clutch drum provided low gear, and a band on the rear unit internal gear drum provided reverse. This transmission was offered on Ford, Mercury, Edsel, Falcon Comet & Meteor cars with differences in the torque converter, valve bodies and clutch plates to accomodate differing engine torques.
This transmission features an aluminium case, including bell housing, with a 14 bolt oil pan. 1959 - 1961 units had no vacuum modulator, 1961 - 1964 models had a vacuum modulator on the left hand side.
