"The letters S and L composing this mark are the initials of the publisher Sagot and his successor Le Garrec (see L.2253-54). The stamp was affixed by Le Garrec to the back of all the proofs of his edition, in 1921, of the Album of 40 clichés-verres of Corot, Daubigny, Rousseau, Millet, Delacroix, printed on the plates of the old Cuvelier collection (from Arras, friend of Constant Dutilleux), passed to the Parisian collector Albert Bouasse-Lebel who, after having made a limited edition, sold them to Le Garrec. Le Garrec edition: 150 copies containing a simple series, and 5 copies containing a double series of proofs in different tones or inverted.

The mark is accompanied by the numbering of the proof, in pencil."
