I recommend getting high quality rechargeable AA batteries. "Ikea Ladda 2450 mAh" and "Eneloop Pro" are great options. 

This console is easy to upgrade with Funnyplaying's USB-C Rechargeable Battery mod. Installation is very simple and wont require disassembling the device. It drops right into the battery compartment. If you buy it separately, you should have no issues installing it. It is NOT included. I personally prefer the Ikea AA rechargeable batteries mentioned above. 

This console is made with a refurbished original Gameboy Advance motherboard and features the following upgrades:
Screen features:
  • Laminated glass - never have to worry about dust getting under the glass and on the screen. The screen sits right up against the glass giving a cleaner look.
  • 15 levels of brightness
  • 3 pixel settings - can add scanlines
  • 5 color pallettes - Normal, High Contrast, Retro color mode, Grayscale, Green (like a DMG)
  • 3 color gamut settings - Warm colors, Ordinary colors, Highlight (turns alll white pixels on to make them the brightest) 
  • FRM setting - "Frame blending" blends frames together to emulate the refresh rate of the original console
