A number of rock legends join Carl Perkins at the Limehouse Studios in London to celebrate the 30th anniversary of 'Blue Suede Shoes' entry into the charts. Guests include Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Dave Edmunds.
Performed in the UK in 1985, it's basically a tribute to Carl Perkins and his songs, by mainly the cream of the British rock 'n' rollers.
It's an excellent addition to any rock 'n roll collection, about an hour long and featuring most of Perkins' famous numbers. Carl Perkins is in the show too by the way, looking and sounding pretty good, as are star guests George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Dave Edmunds and a tasty Roseanne Cash - yes, Johnny's daughter.
All in all, a thigh-slapping, finger clicking rhythmic production of some good old early fifties rock numbers, well-performed and brilliantly backed.
There's also a great little cameo at the end when, believing the recorders and cameras to be switched off, Carl paid tribute to the performers, which moved him to tears.
