This uncirculated 1,000 Bhutanese ngultrum note is a commemorative banknote issued by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan in 2016 to celebrate the birth of His Royal Highness the Gyalse, Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck. It is a yellow, gold, and red note that is dated 2016, bears the signature of Dasho Penjore, and measures 165 mm x 70 mm. Its obverse side features a commemorative silver foil overprint, a gold foil of the royal emblem, the Dakini (mythical angel) carrying the Raven Crown, Norbu Rimpochhe (one of the seven auspicious gems) above a Khorlo (Wheel of Dharma) flanked by dragons, and a portrait of the 5th king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. Its reverse side shows a horizontal red BIRTH OF THE PRINCE OF BHUTAN overprint and a view of the Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Parliament in the capital of Thimphu. Security features include a 4-mm wide Rolling Star windowed security thread with a demetalized RMA 1000 and a watermark of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
