This pair of handmade black dolls from the 1930’s/40’s are unique pieces of primitive folk art. Made in the United States, these rag dolls embody African American culture and heritage. With its simple construction and distinctive design, these dolls are a rare find for collectors interested in cultural artifacts .They each measure 17” long. all the clothing is hand sewn. The faces are hand embroidered . The hair is curled wool and bodies and clothing are cotton. They are in very good condition. It’s remarkable that they are still together as a pair after almost 90 years!
