The Manatee from Schleich® WILD LIFE is a mammal that lives in tropical waters and feeds on seagrass, algae and other aquatic plants. Its closest relative is an elephant. Its front legs have evolved into fins over millions of years, while its hind legs have completely disappeared. The manatee’s tail is shaped like a paddle, whereas a dugong, which looks very similar, has a tail fluke that looks like a dolphin.
All Schleich figures are lovingly hand-painted with detailed modelling and allow children to learn as they play.
