In fair condition. Boards are normally scuffed at edges and worn/bumped at corners. Head and tail of spine scuffed. Hinges rubbed; gilt ruling on spine dulled & soiled. Ex-library manuscript sticker on spine. Title page of Text 1 exhibits loss at both fore & bottom edges (loss of text). Normal toning and scattered age-staining throughout text-block. A few instances of water or tea dampness stains. Blank leaf between Text 1 & 2 exhibits old-hand genealogical information (See below). Leaf containing pages 209-210 in Text 2 chipped at fore-edge (no loss of text). Binding intact. Please see photos. 

   Isaac Watts (1674-1748) is considered the father of English hymnody. This version printed in Colonial Boston features the hymn dedicated to the coronation of George III. This was later changed after the American Revolution by Ezra Stiles President of Yale College.
