Rhassoul clay comes from the Arabic word ‘rassala’ which means “the matter which washes”. Other names of this clay are Moroccan Clay and Ghassoul Clay. It comes from the Atlas Mountains in Eastern Morocco where it is mined from the deposits formed from the volcanic ashes. Rhassoul clay is effective in improving skin elasticity, and unclogging pores. It is effective in the treatment of skin blemishes especially blackheads, whiteheads, removing dead skin cells and is able to absorb excess surface oils.
