Frequently asked questions

What does Taurine do?

Taurine is a fairly inert compound, it is an ideal modulator of basic processes such as osmotic pressure, cation homeostasis, enzyme activity, receptor regulation, cell development and cell signalling. Evidence suggests that these functions of taurine are mediated by changes in the activity of key Ca2+ transporters and sensitivity.

Furthermore, taurine is suggested to be an osmoregulator of water in cells while also acting as an indirect regulator of oxidative stress. However, the exact mechanisms behind these functions remain unclear. Laslty, taurine stabilizes membranes through direct interactions with phospholipids and can aid a broad range of enzymes for bodily functions!

Is Taurine safe?

Yes, one 2019 report suggests that the highest daily dose of taurine you can safely consume is 3 grams per day. However, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) suggested in its 2012 guidelines that you can safely take up to 6 grams per day.

How do I use it?

Take 1 serving daily, with or without food—or as recommended by your healthcare provider. Ideal before workouts, during times of stress, or to wind down in the evening!

My powder is clumping. Is this normal?
Yes! Taurine is highly hygroscopic (loves to absorb moisture). You'll find taurine clumps overtime. No need to worry, it does not affect the efficacy of the product. Simply use a spoon, or fork to break up!
