Stone measures approx 23mmx18mm not including the bail which adds a further approx 8mm to the drop. Bail is 925 Sterling Silver and stamped 925.
Stone is sliced/cut by hand, polished on front, raw on back.
This is a rare and pretty stone with beautiful fluorescence under UV light (see photos). It's rarity is due to it only being found in a handful of places worldwide and was discovered first in 1968 in Afghanistan.
It is a Feldspar which contains the mineral Lazurite (in common with Lapis and Sodalite), and other minerals which give it a beautiful range of blues. This piece has a lot of the deep Sapphire Blues in it and a sprinkling of pyrite, quite exquisite.
