Vintage Dorothy Thorpe Silver Band Chip & Dip Set with Toothpick Holder--all 4 pieces included
This was originally marketed as a Shrimp and Sauce Set with the large bowl for the shrimp, the smaller one for the sauce and the smallest one for toothpicks.
- bowls are hand decorated crystal with a sterling silver band
- larger bowl measures 10 1/4" across rim and 4 3/4" high
- larger bowl has original label "Dorothy Thorpe Inc. California, Sterling Silver on Crystal
- smaller bowl measures 5 1/2" across rim and 2 1/2" high
- toothpick holder measures 2 3/4" high
- original plastic hanger is included
- silver band is 1 1/8" wide on large bowl, 1/2" wide on smaller bowl, 3/4" on toothpick holder

- good vintage condition, large bowl has a flea bite chip on rim
- no other chips or cracks on any of the pieces
- sterling silver bands have tarnished, some places on rim have heavier tarnish than others and would benefit from polishing. Will leave that to the discretion of the buyer
- bands show minimal signs of use, if any
- around the outside of the bowl, at the bottom, there is a haze and some spots or marks that I was not able to remove with a light cleaning
- box also contained large storage brown bag to help minimize tarnish
- toothpick holder is wrapped in brown tissue paper and tucked into a corner of the box
NOTE: these are Dorothy Thorpe original silver band pieces, not "silver fade" which are often erroneously attributed to her.
Original gift box will be used for shipment and will be placed in larger cardboard box.
