Crocker & Co., 1883; with stiff colored wraps; unpaginated [70 pages, 24 of which are full-page color lithographs on 12 leaves] [see pagination below]; Octavo, (approximately 9 x 6 inches). Descriptive text interleaved with color images of California and Yosemite scenes and advertisements for California businesses.

This 1883 California Merchant's Issue, as noted by  [Currey & Kruska 133], does not have a cover title [but has different business names imprinted on a boulder in the lower foreground of the title page   This copy of the Merchant’s Issue has "Compliments of Frank G. Edwards 820 Market Street, S. F.". The text of the  (California Merchant's Issue) “ is composed of advertisements for California businesses and descriptions of the state’s scenic attractions“ (Currey & Kruska 133).

CONDITION: COVER NEAR FINE: the front cover has a tiny piece flaked off on bottom right corner and the spine is worn primarily at the head and tail; CONTENTS FINE, including color plates  (a small, folded corner on the bottom of title page, occurred prior the cutting of the page, thus causing it best to be left folded,  if opened it would extend beyond the outer edges of the other pages) This booklet is in EXCEPTIONALLY nice collectable condition [all of the photos were taken with my phone (except the covers which were scanned) and do not reflect the fine condition that they are in]; [Please see scans]
