HISTORY:   Saul Hudson, better known by his stage name Slash, is a British-American musician and songwriter, best known for being the lead guitarist for the hard rock band Guns N' Roses. In 2004 he co-founded the supergroup Velvet Revolver with fellow Guns N' Roses members Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, guitarist Dave Kushner (formerly of Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves) and singer Scott Weiland. In 1994 he formed the band Slash's Snakepit with which he recorded two albums, one in 1995 and the second in 2000, during a period of rest in which he did not compose new songs, time later he formed Slash's Blues Ball, a band strictly for conductors in the who made versions of songs of the blues genre. Various magazines have placed him at the top of their ranking of guitarists. In the world of rock music, Slash has received critical acclaim as a guitarist. Time named him first on their list of The 10 Greatest Electric Guitarists in 2009. Guitar World ranked his solo on "November Rain" number 6 on their list of "Guitar's 100 Greatest Solos" in 2008, and Total Guitar put his riff on of "Sweet Child O' Mine" at number one on his list of the 100 Greatest Riffs in 2004. In 2012, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with other members of Guns N' Roses. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Slash at #65 on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2011. In 2016, he rejoined the band Guns N' Roses, after breaking up due to a dispute with Axl Rose.
