Designed and made bade by a bassist, by hand in the USA with almost all USA made parts. This is a product I've been dreaming about making for decades, using prototypes for years and I'm finally ably to make available to the world.

Piezo pickups are basically unusable in live and loud volume scenarios. They are feedback monsters requiring you to EQ out your low end and tone. Simply put, if you wanna rock on the upright, loud, you need a magnetic pickup.

But there are so few options and the ones out there are often expensive and lacking - I've tried most!

So I designed the pickup I wanted to see in the world, based on my 20 years experience playing upright bass in rock bands for a living.

Essential elements:

Hand made in the USA, using beautiful reclaimed and locally sourced wood

Passive, not active, well shielded and grounded individual coils, one per string

Extra large, Individually adjusting poles to perfectly blend volume between strings

Easy, non-marring mounting system - goes on and off in seconds

Durable, yet repairable and modifiable

Each pickup is wound with 42AWG copper wire to about 5.x K ohms resistance, shielded in copper tubing and topped with a 5/8" ceramic magnet with about 2lbs pull force.

With the included allen key, the player has the ability to easily and accurately "dial in" the perfect pole positioning for their bass and playing technique. Check out the audio demo video attached here and be sure to check out the whole build video and story. youtube.com/timsway

This listing is for a stained black pickup, but they come in other varieties. Check out my other listings!

NOTE: This pickup only works with METAL CORE STRINGS. If your strings are gut or plastic, they are probably going to work, but there are some strings that appear to be metal but have a synthetic core and do not work, and the other way around. Check your brand to make sure. If you still aren't sure, see if a refrigerator magnet tries to stick to them. If it does, they'll work!
