How to Check Your Firmware Version:

• Power on your PCM 70; the firmware version typically appears on the display at startup.
• If unsure, contact me before ordering for verification.

• Designed for all PCM 70 units compatible with version 2.0 firmware.

Why Choose the 2.0 Upgrade?

• Includes the classic “Tiled Room” preset and other sounds not found in v3.01.
• Many downgrade from v3.01 to v2.0 just to regain these missing presets.
• Sysex transfer of 2.0 presets to 3.01 is possible but not straightforward for most users.

Important Installation Warning: Incorrect ROM installation (such as backwards insertion) will destroy the chips and may damage your PCM 70. Always match each chip’s notch with the socket guide before powering on. If in doubt, please ask first.

Installation Guidance:

• Align each ROM chip’s notch with the matching socket on the PCM 70 mainboard.
• Only install in a static-free environment and use proper anti-static precautions.
• If you are not confident about installing, do not power on your unit. Send a clear photo for verification—I'm happy to help.
