This is designed for use with the VW RCD330/RCD360/RCD360PRO/187E/187F/280B/C/D head units, it's a direct connection and will turn on when reverse is selected.

Please note reverse camera mode must be enabled in  your head unit for this to work. This can be done quite easily with VCDS.
