I recommend getting high quality rechargeable AA batteries. "Ikea Ladda 2450 mAh" and "Eneloop" are good options

This console is made with a refurbished original Gameboy Color motherboard and functions (except the screen) the exact same as an original Gameboy Color. 

The following parts are custom upgrades:
  • New shell with custom graphic UV printed on 
  • New Retro Pixel IPS 2.0 LCD screen 
  • New buttons and button membranes
  • New speaker
  • New capacitors
Screen Features:
  • It is 25% larger than an original gameboy color screen
  • Backlit IPS screen has brightness settings, rich colors and great viewing angles.
  • The screen illuminates the "GAMEBOY COLOR" logo with settings to change to any color
  • 5 pixel modes, ranging from heavy scanlines (defined pixels like old screens) to very smooth picture (no lines, more modern) to fit your preference
  • FRM Setting - emulates the slower refresh rate of old screens to help make some games look more original
  • On screen settings menu - easy access to change any setting
