During the summer months, nightly, a trip is made with a boat equipped with powerful searchlights, which when played upon the water, attract these fish by the hundreds.

Overall description: The postcard features an illustration of a flying fish in mid-flight against a gradient background of orange sky and blue ocean. The fish is dark with large, outstretched fins. The card's caption, "C-3âFlying Fish, Santa Catalina, California" is printed in the upper right corner. The lower right corner has the code "4A-H449". The back of the postcard has printed text on the left describing the flying fish and how tourists can view them, along with an area for a stamp on the upper right and space to write the address on the lower right.
