Painter, born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. After Huddersfield Technical College, went to Royal College of Art, Slade School of Fine Art and the Royal Academy Schools, winning several medals. During the latter part of World War I he was an Official War Artist. Exhibited RA, RI, RBA, ROI, RP, RIBA, Goupil and Leger Galleries (had a solo at Leger 1934) and Ridley Art Club. Imperial War Museum holds his work. Member of the Art Club in Bournemouth, Hampshire, where he lived.

Oil on canvas generally in very good condition. Some fine craqueleure (shrinkage) to paint surface. Might benefit from a light clean. Slight stretcher mark to top edge. Frame with various chips & scuffs and loose at mitre joints. Frame would benefit from restoration or replacement.
