Frequently Asked Questions
Q) Why use self-adhesive floor tiles?
A) Self-adhesive floor tiles are a cost effective way of covering up old floors, from cracked tiles to dated wood. They can be applied directly over a level, hard, flat surface (levelling with hardboard may be necessary). The ultimate DIY product, self-adhesive floor tiles are so easy to fit, there’s no grout or glue required and you don’t need the services of a professional fitter – another saving! The vinyl material makes the tiles ideal for use in kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms and are easy to clean.
Q) What surfaces can self-adhesive floor tiles be applied to?
A) In a nutshell, the surface needs to be flat, smooth and clean. Avoid textured, damp and dirty surfaces. Hardwood, tiles, parquet and wood is OK, avoid concrete (unless latex primer used), raw wood (unless latex primer used), uneven surfaces (carpets and floorboards), floating floors eg. laminate or lino
Q) How do I clean the tiles?
A) Use normal household detergents to clean the floor tiles. You need to wait 5 days for the adhesive to bond, but after that you can vacuum and clean as normal.
Q) Are the tiles water resistant?
A) The vinyl’s surface is water resistant but it’s important that water doesn’t get underneath the tile as this will compromise the adhesion.
Q) Can I use the tiles on the wall as a splashback?
A) The tiles are not manufactured for this purpose, but if you choose to use them as a splashback, you will need to use extra adhesive.
Q) How do I cut and fit the tiles?
A) Simply score with a utility knife and snap to trim the tile to size. Peel away the backing paper and press firmly into place.
Q) Can the floor tiles be removed?
A) Yes, they are fully removable. Any residue can be removed with ethanol. If you lay a tile incorrectly you can peel it back off and re-position. The adhesive becomes stronger over time and takes a few days to bond fully.

- Please try and order a sample first to test the product and make sure it’s compatible with the surface you are laying it on, note any returns will be at your cost. Also make sure that enough tiles are purchased when you’re ready to order, they have a batch number and may differ slightly if you reorder another batch.
- We advise ordering a full size sample for patterned designs. For tiles with an ‘all over’ effect, select smaller quarter size sample to save on postage costs. Note quarter tile samples are randomly cut, so may differ from that shown. Samples are non-returnable and will not be refunded.
