Grow an instant patch of sweet tasting onion/garlic! Allium triquetrum is an edible bulbous flowering plant in the genus Allium native to the Mediterranean basin. It is known in English as three-cornered leek or three-cornered garlic, in Australia as angled onion, and in New Zealand as onion weed. Both the English name and the specific epithet triquetrum refer to the three-cornered shape of the flower stalks. Every part of the plant is edible with a sweet onion/garlic flavour. It is a great no maintenance year round substitute for onions or garlic. You can use it in dishes as you would use onion or garlic and it also makes a great pesto!
PLANT CARE: Remove plants from packaging as soon as you receive delivery. Plant tubers/rhizomes in a container in a suitable growing medium and keep in a frost free environment such as a greenhouse. Protect from pests such as rodents. Plant out in spring.
