One of the rages today is steampunk! This is all about combining symbols and aesthetics from the industrial revolution and Victorian age with modern day technology. This pen is all about capturing this combination. It combines a modern Parker style writing utensil with the looks of the early industrial age.
The Pen Mechanism is inspired by the steam engine, the pen reliably extends and retracts using a pump action click mechanism. The pen style is typical of the steampunk style, featuring an intricately cast Victorian clock surrounded by gears and pipes - incorporating a high level of ornate detail. The Pen Tip is a shapely, machined tip that is decorated with leaf trim and has a waist with machined through-holes that give view into the inside of the pen. The Pen Clip is curved, machined and precision-engineered with routed edges, through-holes, and rivets. The pen is plated with an Antique Brass finish.
One of the endearing things of steampunk is the mixture of old and new. To that end, the metals of the pen may have small flaws or dings. If present, they are simply part of the process of making the kits. If I notice them when making the pen I will note them in the listing.
Replacing the ink refill is as simple as unscrewing the tip, removing and replacing the refill, and reassembling the pen. The refill is a Parker style, available at any office supply store or online.
The center portion of the pen is made from a piece of mango , with unique threads and swirls of darker browns. The wood was hand-turned, sanded to 6000 grit, and finished with a friction polish in my shop.

The pen is about 6 inches long and definitely has a hefty, solid feel to it.
The pen shown in the picture is the exact pen you'll be getting.
