DescriptionThis exceptional antique Austrian silver boudoir tray has an oval shaped form.
The surface of this antique tray is embellished with impressive white guilloche enamel flanked with applied tied reed decorated silver borders, encompassing a vibrant pink guilloche enamel panel.
The centre of the tray is embellished with an impressive oval cartouche accented with a tied reed decorated border, in addition to tied ribbon bows to either end.
The cartouche displays an exceptional hand painted panel depicting a female figure in period attire, holding a staff bearing a ribbon tied floral spray to the upper portion.
The raised rounded border is plain and unembellished.
This silver and enamel tray is fitted with a pair of scrolling handles.
The tray has a weighted base and is fitted with a leatherette covering to the underside.
Such enamel and silver continental examples are often struck with limited hallmarks; this piece bears the maker's mark (R-S) and the country mark 'Made in Austria'.
