About Item: The RAD relay has a dual magnetic system (base) of the valve type. In the middle, on a fixed axis, an anchor is fixed. On the right and left sides of the anchor, one core is placed. On each core, there is one coil with one winding. That is, the RAD relay has two electromagnets and one common anchor between them. The contact system of the RAD relay consists of one normally closed and one normally open contact. Between the contacts there is a pass-through capacitor, about 7 pF, which may not be used. Fixed contacts of a spherical shape in the amount of four pieces are mounted in two flat ceramic insulators, two contacts on each insulator. The insulators are attached on both sides to the relay base using metal brackets. The movable contact (contact bridge) is made in the form of a cylinder with rounded ends, it is mounted on the relay anchor and insulated from the latter by a flat ceramic insulator.
When voltage is applied to the right electromagnet, the anchor is attracted to its core, and the right contact closes; when voltage is applied to the left electromagnet, the anchor is attracted to its core, and the left contact closes.
The relay is attached to the chassis of the equipment using two screws.
External wires to the RAD relay are soldered from the back side to the fixed contacts and to the jumper (round cross-section busbar), which forms a common point of the normally closed and normally open contacts. To connect external wires to the coils, there is a terminal block with four terminals on the base of the relay.
