UEi IRT803 Digital Insulation Resistance Tester with 1000V Stress Test
The UEi IRT803 is a 600V AC/DC digital insulation resistance tester for troubleshooting, commissioning, and preventative maintenance applications. The IRT803 features include: continuity, 600V AC/DC, Earth-bond Resistance, PI/DAR test as well as checking insulation ranges from 100V to 1000V to test pumps, compressors, fans, HVAC and refrigeration equipment for deterioration, faults, and current leakage.

Overview
How important is insulation resistance testing? Since 80% of electrical maintenance and testing involves evaluating insulation integrity, the answer is "very important." Electrical insulation starts to age as soon as it's made.
The UEi IRT803 is designed to help prevent hazards such as electrical shock and short-circuits caused when the insulation in electrical devices, parts, and equipment used in plants, buildings, and other settings degrade over longs periods of use.
The IRT803 tester offers on-board voltage test to check instrument battery levels for quick diagnostics. In addition, it also uses timed ratio tests to detect insulation resistance which include the polarization index (PI) and dielectric absorption rate (DAR). These tests help identify changes in current over a specific period of time, then display readings as a ratio.
This compact insulation resistance tester IRT803 features an easy-to-read, large backlit screen display, a work light, and a protective rubber boot with a comfortable molded grip. It includes a power-LOCK button for hand-free operation and a safety, live-circuit detection and captive voltage auto-discharge feature that halts the insulation test when the voltage exceeds 30V.
