This uncirculated 10 Shillings Somaliland note is a commemorative banknote issued by the Bank of Somaliland to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Independence of Somaliland. It is a purple and brown note that is dated 1996, bear the signatures of Barreh Hajj Omer and Abdi Mohamoud Gullet, and measures 120 x 53 mm. Its obverse side features the Goodirka (former House of Representative, now Supreme Court building), a male greater kudu, and a horizontal gold "5th Anniversary of Independence 18 May 1996 / Sanad Gurada 5ee / Gobanimadda 18 May 1996" overprint. Its reverse side shows two nomads with three camels, twin hills of Naasa-Hablood (Somali for Girls’ Breasts) near Hargeisa and a tree. The note does not have a security thread or watermark.
