Our mobility scooter covers are designed to protect your scooter if you leave it outside, and can also be used if you store it in a shed, or in your porch or entrance way. They can be used all year round, spring summer autumn and winter. Our covers will stop hot sunlight and UV harming it in the summer and protect against rain and freezing conditions in the winter. They will protect against bird droppings and tree sap getting on the seat and handlebars, give protection from dusty and dirty sheds, and can also be used indoors if you keep your scooter in your hallway to protect against knocks and spills.
We manufacture four sizes as standard. You need to measure the length of your scooter and correspond the right cover for it. Overall length is measured in a straight line from the front of the front wheel or bodywork to the back of the back wheel or bodywork. Sizes are as follows:
Small/compact/folding/lightweight scooter such as the Shoprider Whisper: 30" or 76cm in overall length
Medium scooter such as the Strider Bootie or TGA Eclipse: 45" or 114cm in overall length
Large scooter such as the Drive Mercury or Kymco Midi: 50" or 127cm in overall length
Extra large scooter such as the Strider Maxi or TGA Breeze: 60" or 152cm in overall length
There is a bit of leeway due to how we manufacture our covers so you can allow an inch or two either way. Of course your scooter can be quite a bit shorter than our cover but the cover will then be a little baggy on the scooter.
There is no VAT in our prices but to comply with HMRC you need to give us a quick note briefly describing your disability (we don't need much information and certainly no intrusive information).
If you are buying and you are NOT registered disabled then please ring us instead.
Technical detail:
We manufacture our mobility scooter covers with a highly breathable polyester textile (not plastic) designed especially for use all year round outdoors. The fabric we use was especially designed for us 35 odd years ago and has evolved over the years into the modern fabric we use for the majority of our outdoor covers. It is a superbly rich looking textile and is incredibly strong stuff which means we can keep it a single layer and light in weight. On that fabric are the proofs that do the job of protecting from rain, UV, dust, birds, tree sap etc.
Fixings:
Our covers can be quickly fitted on your scooter thanks to the lightweight fabric and taken off and packed away in its own bag. There is a strap that goes underneath the scooter to help secure the cover when it's windy, but this could be a little awkward if you are unable to bend down so it is not a crucial part of securing the cover - that comes from the shaping and tailoring of our covers (they are not a "box"!) No part of the cover or the straps will abrade your paintwork (thanks to a superbly smooth inner surface to our fabric), but you should always cover a clean scooter.
A little about us:
We have been manufacturing covers for nearly 35 years and we have a massively diverse range of patterns and templates to cover almost anything from cars to chimineas and from caravans to tractors! We manufacture all our own covers from our own patterns and because we have our own sewing rooms we can also make things that are a bit out of the ordinary, sometimes just from measurements and diagrams!
We are always on the lookout for new ideas and new patterns. If you need something protecting and covering please get in touch.
