This device will require programming to your garage door opener.  There is a card in the package with links to a YouTube channel for programming instructions.  If you are the type who can watch a video and figure it out, that's great.  Please be aware, I am not affiliated with either Genie or the manufacturer of this remote.  I am a surplus goods reseller.  I will not be able to provide programming support.  If you feel like you are going to need help I strongly suggest you pay the extra cost to buy official.
