Every closet needs a trusty plaid shirt and if you’re looking we’d like to nominate the Gap Relaxed Fit Flannel for the job. With an easy longline silhouette cut from soft cotton this collared button-up features long sleeves with buttoned cuffs and a rounded high-low shirttail hem. The shirt is finished with branded buttons throughout a flag label on one side and bias-cut contrast on the chest pocket and pleated back yoke. For cool days we’d probably wear this buttoned up over leggings (the long rear hem provides extra coverage over the backside if you’re worried about that) with a beanie and combat boots to complete the fall-ready look. But it would also work great as light outerwear over a T-shirt and jeans adding that pop of color and print you’d need to punch up a too-plain outfit.
