Festiniog 2t Steel Sided Slate Wagon

Our kit which is available singly or in packs of 5 can be assembled into either the braked or non-braked versions.

The kit contains a plastic body and floor + curved spoke metal wheels.

The principal freight traffic on the Festinog Railway was the carriage of finished slate from the quarries of Bleanau Festiniog to the port of Porthmadog.

Specially designed slate wagons were provided for this traffic. The most common was the 2-ton steal sided wagon of which there were approximately 117 braked wagons and 522 non-braked wagons.

This kit includes the wheels but no couplings. The most suitable couplings to use are GR-103 coupling pockets with GR-102 couplers (to be attached to the kit using plastic glue)
