Two Large Brass Floor or Altar Candlestick Holders
This is a pair of striking, brightly polished, alter candle holders. They could be used on a table or as floor candlesticks and would look very elegant at a wedding. They are quite heavy, and are well balanced and weighted so they do not tip over easily. They have graceful lines and curves with some etched rings around the base and drip trays for decoration. They are fairly wide through out, and have a large opening that can hold up to a 2 1/8" - 2 1/4" candle. There is a large, flat topped cork in each opening right now, sitting 1/8" below the top of the lip, so you can easily sit a pillar candle on top of it. They have extra wide, 10" drip plates for catching the wax.
There are no makers marks or indication of when these were made, but I believe these are antique because of the way they feel. They have the lovely, soft, smoothness and slightly rounded edges of brass that has been polished hundreds of times. The brass itself has a warm, slightly pinkish, rose gold color to it.
There are various imperfections, most of which I believe were original to the pieces. There are a few small areas of pitting in the brass that look original. There are a few short places where the etched triple lines that circle the base are incomplete. At first glance I thought these had been worn away by polishing, but they end so abruptly that I now think they are original. There is a small dent on the edge of one of the drip plates, and there are some minor scuffs and stains in the surface of the brass, but overall these display wonderfully.

The candlesticks will be disassembled into three pieces each, making them easier to ship. They are easy to screw back together. I will wrap them in tissue paper and bubble wrap and double box them with more bubble wrap between the boxes to keep them safe.
