The Honeywell Thor VM3 is the latest in the Honeywell line of vehicle mount computers. This VMC has a full-sized display (12.1 XGA LED backlit display) and is available in an indoor (400 NIT) or outdoor (900 NIT) model. Additional options for the display include a defroster and capacitive touch screen for multi-touch applications. The VM3 is also built rugged - made for tough distribution center environments, freight operations, or demanding manufacturing facilities.
The Thor VM3 is powered by a Dual Core Intel Atom E3826 (1.5 GHz) Processor, has up to 4GB DDR3 memory, and supports both WWAN 802.11/a/b/g/n (standard) and WWAN GSM/GPRS (optional) wireless connectivity. You can choose to run either Windows Embedded Compact 7 (WEC 7), Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES 7), Microsoft Windows 7 (Win 7) or Microsoft Windows Embedded 8.1 operating system.
Three key features of the Thor VM3 are specifically designed to keep your business operating with minimal downtime: 1) Smart Dock, 2) User Field-Replaceable Front Panel and 3) Ignition Control. The Smart Dock allows you to realize immediate savings on support and maintenance, and maximize efficiency by enabling rapid shifting of computers in the event of vehicle failure of change in workload. The field replaceable front panel allows you to quickly replace the keyboard and touchscreen thus eliminating down time and maintenance costs on the most common wear and abuse prone component. The Ignition Control helps prevent a dead battery by putting the VM3 into standby or hibernate mode when the ignition switch is turned off.
One of the most capable full-size vehicle mounted mobile computers, Honeywell's Thor VM3 was designed for the toughest distribution center environments, freight operations, and manufacturing facilities. The VM3 enebles enterprises to choose the options they need to maximize efficiencies in the most demanding environments. The VM3 supports standard resistive touchscreen or the optional capacitive touchscreen for multi-touch applications. Designed with a built-in ignition control, the VM3 aims to eliminate the maintenance expense and lost productivity caused by a dead vehicle battery.
