This Ram pump is designed to be user serviceable and anyone with basic understanding of mechanical systems should be able to repair or rebuild this pump should it ever need it.
What size do I need?
1" Model needs 5-9 gallon per minute available.
3/4" Model needs 3-5 gallon per minute available flow. (SEE 3/4" LISTING)

The 1" model is adjustable for an input water flow range of 5 - 9 gallons per minute. Quantity pumped varies based on drive pipe drop and lift height.

A few facts about my goals surrounding this pump.
I built this pump with a 100 year + lifespan in mind, reasonable maintenance still required.
Every part can be replaced or is rebuildable with a goal of never selling a replacement pump.
Part of the design goal was that I wanted a farmer or homesteader etc to be able to fix or rebuild their own pump with basic hand tools.
Inside the waste valve is a rubber washer which will need to be replaced at intervalls within that 100-year lifespan. Replacement is simple and straightforward. Use a paint marker to draw a line across the top reducer bushing down onto the cross fitting. Unscrew the reducer bushing from the cross being careful to note how many turns it takes to remove it. The guide rod will stay in through the entire replacement. Loosen the two bottom shaft collars and remove. Slide off the stainless washer/s and the rubber sealing washer. Replace the sealing washer and re-assemble it like it came apart. Lightly tighten the bottom most shaft collar and tap against the washer/s till everything is snug. Tighten both shaft collars. Clean threads and apply 5-7 wraps of quality thread tape. Re-install into the pump and turn back in the exact number of turns needed to remove the large hex bushing and upper assembly in the first place. Line the paint mark up and confirm that the guide rod moves freely.
Note: The sealing washer is not strictly necessary for function and the pump is perfectly capable of pumping without it, I know this from experience because I once experimented with using a leather disk instead of rubber. The leather disk worked fine but eventually was destroyed do to being too thin. The pump however continued to pump inspite of the missing sealing washer.
How is it better than the competitions PVC pumps?
How about 50% more water from the same drive pipe setup? A customer recently reported that simply by switching out his (competitors name) pvc ram pump for our Stainless Steel Hydraulic Ram Pump he was able to pump 50% more water. Both pumps were the same inlet diameter and the drive pipe setup remained the same. Our Hydraulic Ram Pump pumped 50% more water to his storage tank per day.
Unlike glued together PVC plastic ram pumps this pump is made of 100% 304 Stainless Steel.
Our all stainless steel pump complete with a custom waste valve and spring-loaded check valve has been proven to pump as high as 1:15 and our static testing shows it should pump even higher. Max useful lift height is expected to be somewhere around a 1:20 ratio.
For comparison pvc pumps can only lift water to a 1:7 ratio.
You will need 2 pipe wrenches to assemble the pump. The pump arrives in easy to assemble pieces plus the expansion tank. How many sections depends on what model you purchased.
Each section has been pre-assembled in a manner that helps prevents incorrect assembly. Plumbers tape has been applied to the threads to ensure an easy leak free assembly. Simply look at the photo of the pump and assemble it to match. Your pump is now complete.
Due to varying parts availability your pump may have a different brand stainless steel pressure tank than pictured. Other parts such as ball valves may also be of a different color or design but with the same functionality.
I am constantly working to further refine and optimize these products. Improved designs begin shipping as soon as the improvement is validated. Because of this at times design evolution outpaces the rate at which I get photos updated. What this means for you is that the item you receive may not be an exact match to the photos shown and instead be the latest improvement. Of course inlet/outlet thread sizing will remain the same so you never have to worry about that changing.
