Original 1836 print “The Real Ellen Jewett” - the murder of prostitute Ellen Jewett in lower Manhattan scandalized the city and was the talk of the town. She was never photographed, sketched or painted, so various “likenesses” were printed by several publishers to satisfy public demand for more information. This rare surviving print is the most famous “likeness.” The successful purchaser must have a minimum of 25 100% positive reviews.
