Unusual detailed antique copper engraved nautical chart with coastal views of Japan, by William Bligh (1754-1817).

The map is engraved by Duff. 

The relief is shown pictorially, depths by soundings, the plate shows coastal features and ship's track.

The map depicts the eastern coast of Honshu (Japan), from Cape Nambu (Cape Shiriyazaki) in the north to White Point (Onjuku) in the south. It's the route of the ship of James Cook from 1779 October 24, to 1779 November 2. On 3 November, it was decided to sail to China due to the poor weather conditions.
