This sacramental was initiated when Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and "His wish for her to order a picture of the image of that Sacred Heart for people specifically to venerate and have in their homes and also small pictures to carry with them." She wrote this to her Superior, Mother Saumaise, on March 2, 1686, who received the appropriate approvals. This badge is made of wool and a beautiful picture of Jesus, as shown in the photo. It is 2.5" x 1 3/4" and has beautiful, vibrant colors throughout. There is a beautiful prayer that is said each morning when you wear this badge and devote your life to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
