<STORY>
The last summer of the 20th century. On that day, humans realized that they were not the only rulers of the planet Earth.
The emergence of giant creatures known as "monsters" and the ultimate being that exterminates even the monsters, Godzilla. After half a century of war with the monsters, humans have been defeated and finally plan to escape from Earth. Then, in 2048, only humans who were selected by an artificial intelligence under the control of the central government set off on the interstellar immigrant ship, the Aratrum, for "Tau Cetus e", 11.9 light years away. However, the difference in environmental conditions between Tau e and Earth, which took 20 years to reach, far exceeded the predicted values, and it was not an environment that humans could survive in. A young man named Haruo is on board the immigrant ship. When he was four years old, his parents were killed by Godzilla in front of his eyes, and for the past 20 years, he has been thinking only about returning to Earth and defeating Godzilla. With the possibility of immigration closed and the living conditions on the ship becoming poor, the "Earth return faction" led by Haruo becomes the majority, and decides to make a dangerous long-distance subspace journey to Earth. However, when they return to Earth, 20,000 years have already passed, and the surface has become an unknown world with an ecosystem dominated by Godzilla. Will humanity be able to reclaim the Earth? And what will be Haruo's fate?
