These 3 little gems have been stored in these tattered old Brown & Sharpe blue boxes since from the 1920's to 30's.
The Model 810 Divider 3" size is in the original box (lost label) and has a London written address for West Wimbledon. See pictures 3-8. This style has a "spring nut" as shown in the (circa 1932) Catalog 35 page 216.
The Model 811 Outside Caliper 3" does not have a box, but was found with in the 812 box when purchased. This is also shown in the Catalog 35 and has the same "Spring nut." See Pictures 13-16.
The Model 812 Inside Caliper 3" comes in a "Rex" Brown & Sharpe from the 1920's. It has an older design of the "spring nut" as shown in Catalog 29 (Circa 1924). It does not have a number stamp, typical of this era. (Although some tools from this era were stamped Rex, this was not.) See Pictures 9-12.
These came from of an old machinist tool box lot. They are still partially covered in some of the original protective oil which can attract dust and will make them look a bit dirty. All the tips are still factory finished. (Not been reworked.) Personally, I would never clean or polish them. Like they say, "They are only original once." But, if you buy them, you can do whatever you want!
