I repurposed a vintage 1950s maroon felt poodle skirt and a yellow wool sweater by cutting the poodle off the bottom of the skirt and shortening the hem, and sewed the poodle to the back of the sweater. I then embellished the poodle with colorful metallic pom poms and vintage plastic flowers. I sewed all the pom poms on securely with thread and the plastic flowers are glued to the Pom Pom’s. Pale yellow sweater is from Brooks Brothers, made in Scotland, 100% Shetland wool, and marked size M. Both the skirt and sweater have overall piling, fuzzies, lint, fur, and normal wear. This was done by a novice sewer so expect some flaws. See pics for details. Sweater fits an oversized medium and measures 16” shoulder to shoulder, 21” armpit to armpit, 18” armpit to unrolled sleeve, and 24 1/2” shoulder to bottom. I would say the skirt could comfortably go from a 20” to a 28” waist, measures about 18” long and is 40” diameter.
