All these years later the chalk dog remains in very good condition. It has some light chip/missing paint issues. These are few and hard to spot. A few appear under the dog's snout next to his upper lip, on the dog's right hand side. I have pictured this above. One is seen on the dog's right foot and another on the right hip area. Again, very small and mostly just tiny specks of paint loss. The largest 'chip' is seen on the edge of the base below the scripted July 4th date and toward the edge. The piece also has one at the base edge on each paw.  Again, hard to see as they are on the base edge. I have attempted to picture these issues above. The spaniel has a wonderful gloss. The colors remain very vibrant. The rusty brown colored surface looks fantastic with that high gloss cover. The dog measures six inches in height. It weighs just over 1 lb. The pooch would be a superb edition to one's chalkware collection, or perhaps, a dog figurine collection.
