I have just returned from Ceske Budejovice, where I lived for over 22 years , the collectors are very few now and also the locations are empty , I managed to get some new stock but the prices are now 10x what I originally could pay ..

I wanted to share a little of how I became a Moldavite collector, I lived in the area where they are found for over 22 years after marrying a Czech lady , I was taken to fields by friends and from the first moment I found a moldavite my life hasn't been the same since , over the many years of doing the rock and minerals shows here in the UK I became known as the moldavite man.

I have a video from last summer in a forest in Vrabce next to the sand pit, titled vrabce

I sold them at vastly cheaper prices and was often asked if they were real due to their low prices.

I was telling people about 6 years ago that the locations have been dug over and re dug but with no significant success and now new locations are being sought after but then the tiktok explosion came and ruined it all for everyone, pushing the prices through the roof and out of a lot of peoples pockets too including my own, as my digger friends of course jumped on the money wagon and then it all went out of hand.

I am also now having difficulty due to the access of the internet to get hold any decent moldavites at decent prices , when I say decent I mean there are moldavites from locations which I could not have been given for free 20 years ago from locations such as Jankov due to their whitish dull coverings and cloudy interiors , they of course are now being sought after which for me is a sign of the desperate times.
Moldavites are mined legally in one place only by one company and the rest are collected either by digging or walking the ploughed fields .

The only ones I could afford to get hold of are these smaller lovely ones from Chlum which is one of the top 5 locations in my opinion ,due to their shiny surfacing, deep green colour and wonderful unique shapes.
I have taken quite a lot footage from my recent trips to the locations and as soon as I learn to edit them will up load them onto you tube.
My main reason for writing this is to allow people an insight into the latest real news about them and to not worry about mine being fake, I am constantly reporting people who sell fakes mainly from India ,China etc but nothing happens to them , I think selling a fake moldavite is cheating people in so many ways and I would never do this also when people ask for a certification of authenticity I say I don't have one but if you want I can easily print one out like the man who sells red moldavites will do ? when I contacted this man I told him moldavites aren't red and its a fake but the generic reply and the one which maybe stops ebay from punishing them is they say their suppliers say that they are real and what can they do ??
