How is
it constructed?
- Rough cut
cypress is planed down to a perfect ¾" thickness
- The corners are
rabbeted and attached using 1.5" 16-gauge galvanized nails and
Titebond wood glue
- The removeable
cage that sits in the tray fits snugly in order to keep the bees out of
the open area
- The galvanized
steel tray is hand shaped to fit into the wooden frame
- We use 12-gauge
1/8" galvanized steel mesh to make the ladder and the safety
cover. This feature keeps the bees safe and inside the hive
- The pictures
represent the materials used to make this item and not the specific item shipped.
- Our products
are made with pine or Cypress. Pine is the most popular wood for
making beehives. Cypress lasts longer and handles the weather
better than pine. Both are excellent choices for your hive.
