This is a 1962-63 Parkhurst hockey card of the Detroit Red Wing Hall of Famer, Gordie Howe, #30 in the set of 54 cards. The card was made by Parkhurst Products of Toronto, Ontario.

This set consists of eighteen cards from three teams, the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. There were also two unnumbered cards, a "Tally" checklist card and a "Tally Game Card". They were in English on the obverse and in French on the reverse.

The text on the reverse of the numbered cards, including this one, is both in English and French.

The card was sent to PSA for authentication and encapsulation/grading. It was authenticated and its grade is Good 2, and the Authentication number is 73274076.

Gordon "Gordie" Howe, 1928-2016, was "Mr. Hockey", "Number 9", a Canadian hockey player who was beloved in Detroit and throughout the hockey world. From 1946 to 1980, he played for twenty-six seasons in the National Hockey League and then six seasons in the World Hockey Association. His first twenty-five seasons were with the Detroit Red Wings, he was a twenty-three time All Star, he won the Stanley Cup four times with the Red Wings and was a six-time winner of the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.
